Site Investigation
Ground review, sulphates, CBR and bearing capacity inputs.
Our Proven Approach
A structured delivery process covering investigation, testing, design, treatment, compaction and field validation to meet specification.
Ground review, sulphates, CBR and bearing capacity inputs.
Binder mix trials, soaked CBR testing and validation analysis.
Treatment strategy aligned with MCHW and DMRB requirements.
Mixing, compaction and continuous geotechnical verification.
Method
Every stage feeds the next: investigation informs testing, testing informs the binder design, the design informs the treatment plan, and the works are validated throughout delivery.
01 / Investigation
Initial desktop study of the site investigation information is used to identify soil types, sulphates, and any available information relating to existing CBRs and bearing capacity of the soils.
02 / Testing
Where necessary, and especially for permanent works, subgrade samples are collected from site and sent for geotechnical laboratory testing.
The soil is mixed with the proposed binder at incremental doses to determine the optimum percentage addition required to achieve the target bearing and stiffness.
Each sample undergoes remoulded soaked CBR testing to validate the proposed design binder mix.
03 / Planning
Soil treatment and stabilisation works are designed using site investigation analysis and laboratory data, in accordance with MCHW and DMRB guidance.
04 / Execution
The binder is applied in accordance with the design addition percentage, followed by pulverisation and mixing using specialist stabilisation equipment.
05 / Performance
Achieving the required density and consistency at every stage is critical to long-term performance and compliance.
06 / Verification
Validation testing is vital throughout the mixing and compaction process to ensure the required specification is achieved at every stage.
The ITP is developed at design stage in accordance with MCHW and DMRB requirements.
